Exterior Repairs and Painting in High Desert Neighborhood in Albuquerque
The home has a wide molding around the windows. Unfortunately some of the window trim had gotten water damaged, and needed replacing. One of the challenging aspects of doing this type of work is making sure that you remove the old trim without causing damage to the existing stucco. So we do this type of thing with great care, and the help of a few trick we have picked up over time. To make sure that the customer will never have to worry about leaks in this area, we installed a waterproof membrane behind the new trim that self-seals when penetrated with nails. We dry fit each piece. We pre-painted all six sides before installation. The process is then finished by putting a bead of clear sealant where the trim meets the window and wall, and a final finish coat of paint. The paint for this was Benjamin Moore Aura.
