Interior Staining in Albuquerque
Here are some before and after pics of a project we recently completed in the Thomas Village neighborhood in Albuquerque's north valley. The scope of work included staining, clear finishing, and installing new six panel pine doors, replacing the painted baseboards with a stained 3&1/4" colonial style baseboard. This was the first project that we have used a waterborne lacquer for the finish.
We were very pleased with both the ease of application, and the low odor. The finish was as smooth and as clear as a traditional solvent borne lacquer. As for the baseboard, weather we are installing stained or painted molding we always cope our inside corners to insure the best fit. We also installed some maple closet shelving that we fabricated and stained to match existing cabinetry. To stiffen the shelving we applied a 3/4" thick by 1&1/2" wide maple edging that was rabbited and glued. We also filled in some holes in the walls fr om some outmoded alarm and entertainment equipment, and textured the patches to match. The customer will be having us back in the near future to paint.
